Our bikes were purchased early Saturday afternoon and by Saturday evening we already needed assistance from the Santa Monica Police Department.
One of the bike locks would not open for us.
After 20 minutes of trying, we began to ask strangers if they could help.
No luck. No one could get the lock to open.
(Yes, we were using the correct combination)
So...we called the police.

So...we called the police.
We couldn't help but laugh as he pulled up to us in his cop car with a big clipper sitting next to him in the front seat.
Then he told us his squad probably clips 20 bike locks a day.
After he had freed our bikes we went to the closest bike store and purchased new locks.
(The kind that have a key)
Later that night a few of us walked down to Santa Monica Pier.
We stood at the end of Route 66 and...
rode the Ferris wheel!
So proud of Blaire who conquered her fear and rode it with us.
Melissa, another intern, who lives about a 1/2 mile from us was able to join.
And my favorite photo from the night would be the one I took on my cell phone.
