Meet the roommates.
From left to right - me, Liz, Blaire, and Katie.
We all decided to live together as soon as we found out we would be interning at TOMS.
Liz drove us to work today because we haven't purchased bikes yet.
Because we are good little interns, we decided to leave a half hour early.
We live 2.5 miles from work.
Traffic in this city is terrible.
Parking in this city is terrible.
It was 8:57 a.m. and we had no other choice but to park illegally.
Our intention was to move the car before they started ticketing at noon.
We were late to move it.
$68 fine.
Another intern, Jarrod, purchased a bike yesterday.
On his way to work he got a flat tire.
He was late.
But our intern coordinator is such a sweetie and was totally understanding of the situation.
To start the day off we had coffee followed by orientation.
We heard from various people who work at headquarters and then met with our managers.
The more I hear about this organization the more I love it.
The people are amazing.
So sincere and kind.
For dinner we all went out for Mexican food.
After dinner we helped Jarrod find his bike that he chained to a post.
Everyone thought it would have been stolen because it had been there for more than 8 hours.
We drove by and there it sat. Flat tire and all.
Successful first day.
Can't wait to see what this summer holds.
Definitely working with some talented college students and recent graduates from across the country.
