Remember the whole "I don't have anything to do for a week."
False.
This morning at 8 a.m. we (Natalie, and my landlord (her mom) began ripping up the carpet in our kitchen and nook.
Yes. We had carpet in our kitchen.
It was disgusting.
Bad.
Covered in glue and padding. Some water damage.
No way to save the wood floor.
We spent the afternoon looking at different floor options around town.
After we got back we hauled the old carpet outside and were greeted by our neighbors, the two Mormon Missionary boys from Idaho and Utah.
They volunteered to help us scrape up the padding stuck on the floor in the nook.
This area was still salvageable. (It is a different type of wood and in much better shape)
We all took a corner and within an hour we had most of the padding up.
The carpenter is coming tomorrow morning to measure for linoleum in the kitchen.
Stay tuned to see the progress...
