break time.

My Wednesday night should look like this picture, but instead it looks like this one....

I am being studious. I had to break out my non prescription reader glasses because I have soooo much to read.

Break time is over. Back to work.

snow, snow, snow

You know you have good neighbors when....
You wake up to find that your sidewalks are completely cleared off.

(This picture was taken at 11 AM...they were out shoveling at 7:30 AM)

At first, I didn't know who it was, but after a second glance, I realized it was my neighbors; the Mormon missionary boys from Utah and Idaho.

Nicest thing someone has done for me this whole year :)

I decided to pay them back by making them banana cranberry bread. I found this recipe on a food blog and they looked delicious.....mine turned out nasty. Natalie almost choked on her bite...
Just got done whipping up some brownies...hopefully they turn out better.

This town doesn't know how to handle snow. They only plow the roads going North and South...

Thank you Dad for buying me a car with four-wheel drive, putting a scoop shovel in the trunk, de-icer, ice-scraper, extra mittens, etc. - You are the best! xoxo

makin snow angels

Goal: Enjoy each day, remembering that it is a gift from God. Make memories.

The beautiful white snow that has been falling all day was calling our names. Natalie, Rosalind, and I decided to go outside and play. Who cares how old we are...we can still play in the snow!

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.

Make snow angels while you can.

then we'll go ice skating!

“First we’ll make snow angels for two hours, then we’ll go ice skating, then we’ll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookie dough as fast as we can, and then we’ll snuggle.” -Elf
Okay, well I didn't do all of that, but I did go ice skating last night. I can't even describe how much fun I had! Plus, it was a two for one. Having fun and working out at the same time.
Brent and I were the amateurs, but quickly caught on.

This cute little guy kept falling and Jason volunteered to help him. I did too, but he didn't want help from a girl. Someday he will.... :)

Me, Brent, Jason, and Trinity

This little cutie pie tried his hardest to stay up on both feet. After a few laps, he gave up and decided to plop down in the MIDDLE of the ice rink and EAT the slush. It was adorable.

No falls for this girl at the ice skating rink....until we got to Coldstone Ice Cream.
I was so excited to eat ice cream and it was cold outside, so I started to run inside. I COMPLETELY missed the curb that was in front of me. I wiped it. Hard. Luckily, the only people who saw me fall were the boys I was with. I'm fine, just several bruises. Haha.

Tomorrow starts my last semester of college! Crazy? All good things must come to an end...and then even better things follow!

NW Video

Remember my blog post during finals week? I stated that I was studying in the library when the campus photographer came and filmed me? Well...lucky for me I am only visible for about 3 seconds. The video is probably a lot more fun for myself to watch then it will be for you. I am surprised how many people I know in this video!

You can check it out here... You can see me at around 3:33.
Today I am getting all of my class material ready for Monday! Picking up my books at 1:00.

What I did today...

Hmmm...lets see.

Today I took down the Christmas decorations, vacuumed, laundry, cleaned the bathroom, laid around and creeped on facebook, booked a ticket to Dallas, got a call from my friend April, and went to Wal-Mart.

Oh Wal-Mart. That store makes me chuckle.

Let me describe my trip to you.

First, I stood in line for 10 minutes to return something. The cashier hands me a gift card with the amount I was credited. The gift card has a "Christmas cat" on it. What the heck? I hate cats. I then proceeded to the pharmacy counter to pick up a prescription. As I was pushing my cart the lady ahead of me was not paying attention to where she was going and ran into the toothpaste that was on sale for $2 (She acted like no one saw her) While waiting in line for my prescription, I heard someone yell "They have batman toothbrushes!" I then proceeded to pick up orange juice. I looked down at my phone and looked up to an employee pushing an entire cart of Maxi pads. Her facial expression was screaming embarrassment. Time to leave. Went to check out and used my sweet new Wal-Mart gift card with a cat on it.

I found this a few weeks ago off another blog and thought it was hilarious. Click on it and it should enlarge. See how many of these you can account for.

Funny, right? Not nice, but true.

Washington DC

Loved my trip to Washington, D.C! It reaffirmed how much I enjoy the city. (This blog post is the abbreviated version of everything we did)

Our take off from Omaha on Friday was SCARY. It had been freezing rain and snowing throughout the day. As we sped off the icy runway, we were zig zagging. I looked over at Danielle and asked if she needed the barf bag. She was as pale as a ghost. After we got in the air, we were fine. We arrived to DC earlier than expected and were greeted by my friend, Jordan. The subway runs right through Reagan National, so we jumped on and headed to his place to get ready.

New Years Eve was AMAZING. We went to the Adams Morgan neighborhood (which is the bar district of DC) We didn't actually go to the bars, but hung out at my friend Kyle's apartment. A little bit before midnight, we went to his rooftop balcony and watched as the city celebrated the new year. At midnight, every taxi cab blew their horn, people in the streets screamed, and fireworks went off in three different places of the city. Crazy!

Saturday: We went to the National Archives, Washington Monument, White House and National Christmas Tree, Arlington National Cemetery, and Old Town Alexandria. It was absolutely beautiful this day. We had light jackets, but took them off throughout the day because we got warm.
Yummy old-fashioned ice cream in Old Town.
Sunday: Church, Georgetown University, Georgetown, Georgetown Cupcakes, 2 Amy's Pizza, IKEA, drinks with my former boss, Molly.
I have been waiting for this pizza for a long time. It was delicious!
Monday: American University Law School visit for Danielle followed by lunch with Keppler Speakers for me (I tried bison for lunch) Holocaust Museum, night view tour of the monuments and memorials. After night view we went to dinner at "The Diner" and all got pancakes. Then we met up with my former boss, Freeman, and got drinks at a bar and watched the VT/Stanford game.
I'm pretty amazed with this picture I took.

Tuesday: Capitol Tour, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, lunch in Chinatown with Jordan, Kyle, and Catharine, went up in the Washington Monument, Frozen-Yo, shopping, and then headed back to pack and head to the airport.

I took no pictures on Tuesday...what was I thinking???
I forgot how much you have to walk in DC. I am so exhausted! We didn't stop. We tackled DC.

I miss the diversity, the fun restaurants, the fashion, the fast pace, the men in business suits, the metro, my list could go on and on.

As our plane took off last night a tear rolled down my face because I didn't want to leave, but then I thought... I will be back.

I know I will be back.
