Goodies

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is consuming uncontrollable amounts of Diane Smith's yummy Christmas goodies. Her fudge is a-ma-zing.
As well as her Carmel's, turtles, peanut brittle...
peanut butter balls, Oreo balls, cookies, etc.

They are all delectable . I think I will grab another piece of fudge now...it is addicting.
Thank you Diane for always filling our tummies up with your wonderful homemade goodies!

pups for sale

Better come pick yours out because they will be gone by Christmas (hopefully) !
Aren't I cute???

really mom?

This conversation took place last night.

Me: Mom, when I get married I want a conservative wedding
dress, kind of like yours. I don’t really care for the strapless dresses worn by
girls. They are only flattering on a few people.

Mom: Well, my dress was
the last of the Mohicans…

Me: Blank stare on my face and burst out
laughing…

Mom: Well, it was!!! (She sounded like my Grandma
Kerkvliet here)
Your Aunt Ann was married a month after me and her dress
was one of the first risky ones.
I am beginning to write down what my parents say while I am at home over break. They are too funny and awkward to forget. Conversations with my father consist of puppies, dogs, cows, puppies, dogs, cows...you get the drift?

This is the most precious video . Enjoy.

Lunch with Darielle

One and a half years later, I was reunited with one of my fellow Citizenship Washington Focus Program Assistants.

Darielle. (pronounced Dar - e - L )

The halfway mark for each of us; Okoboji. We grabbed lunch at a Mexican restaurant and then had dessert at
Hey, Good Cookies!

I love the fact that after one and half years, we still 'click' like we did in Washington.

Summer 2009 - Oh, what I would give to have a summer tan right now.

On another note, I am so HAPPY! I can scratch something off of my bucket list.

Get a 4.0 at least one semester in college.

Done.

I worked hard for these grades while balancing my NW Ambassador job, SAC Lecture Chair position, ESL partner, etc. etc. etc. so..I hope I don't sound too braggy.

donate to fight breast cancer

“This isn't just about Teri,” he said of his wife, who died at age 42. “We also
lost her mother, her grandmother, two of her aunts and a cousin (to breast
cancer). And I have three daughters so, yeah, I want a cure right now.”

Meet my good friend, Carolyn Kozol.

Carolyn's mom lost her battle with breast cancer the summer before her senior year of high school.

Since her death, Carolyn, her sisters and dad, have been determined to help fight breast cancer.

Read an article written about them from the Omaha World-Herald here.

Carolyn and Katie have participated in two Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Walks. Together they have raised over $5,000.00 for breast cancer.

Carolyn and Katie are determined girls. They are determined to make a difference in the lives of others while always acknowledging that nothing is possible without Christ.

Carolyn and Katie are fundraising for their third walk. They need your help. Please consider donating to them. In order to walk, they must raise a certain amount of money. You can donate online at Susan G. Komen 3-Day.

(Click on the website, then type in Carolyn Kozol or Katie Kozol...it is a self-explanatory process, but if you have any questions e-mail me at angelawasko@gmail.com)

I promise that your donation is helping two of the most passionate girls help fight breast cancer.

It would mean a lot to me if you could make any contribution to both or either girls.

Alternative Spring Break 2009: New Orleans - Katie, me, Carolyn

All donations are tax deductible and help fight the most common cancer among women in the United States.

Oh a hunting we will go...

Hunting is a workout.

Layers upon layers. Heavy boots. Stocking hat. Winter coat. Snow pants from the 5th grade...(that's another story) Gloves.

Yesterday, Jessica and I went hunting for the first time with my dad. (I didn't carry a gun)
Dad has always wanted his daughters to hunt with him. Jessica was the good daughter and recently took the hunter safety class and obtained her license. Way to go, Jessie ;)

No deer, but still fun to be outside with my sis and dad.
