Aubrey & Kevin

My beautiful, smart, animal loving and sister-like friend, Aubrey, is getting married in less than two weeks!
When I was home before leaving for Cali, I took a few photos of her and her man.
I can't make it to the wedding because I am going to be in a different wedding the same day in Columbia, MO.  (sad face inserted rightttt here)
I guess you could call this my gift to them.

I love this girl so much and I'm so happy she met the man of her dreams.
Now, if she could only find me one ;)

Dinner & Gambling

Last night we went out for dinner with the Smith family followed by a little gambling at the casino.

We walked into the casino feeling lucky...
but no winnings for any of us.

Great night of fun and good conversation.
Thank you Smith family! Hopefully we can arrange a game night before the end of break.

let the baking begin

well...i have been home for approximately for 48 hours...
time sure goes by a lot slower here.

recap of my sunday:
i lifted over 1,000 pounds of wood pellets for my father, helped him put up a snow fence, and assisted with other farms tasks as assigned.
helped mama wrap presents, make dinner, and began Christmas baking

currently listening to my parents argue over what they want to watch on TV.

iowa.

I made a trip to Iowa this weekend to visit my home roots.
You know the saying, the more things change, the more they stay the same?
I think that statement holds true in my life.
My life is always changing, but my home life is a constant.
I always have two supportive parents waiting for me with their arms wide open.
Life is so simple back home.
Nothing really changes.
 But that's okay.
Home is a place that I can always turn to when the rest of my world gets shaken a bit.

Memorial Day

The tradition continues...

We attended Memorial Day services in West Bend to remember those who selflessly fought for our country followed by a picnic lunch at the Grotto.

P.S. I love my family.
