i think i may have killed it...

My bamboo leaves are looking a little crispy on the ends. I got this little guy in Boston when I went to NACA (National Association for Campus Activites) My friend, Abby, who was with me on the trip told me that it would die and not make it on the plane ride.
Well...I proved her wrong. It has been thriving
since Feburary. My mom took care of it over the summer for me...but... I left it in front of my open window last week and it got really cold...I can't tell if it is dying or just 'maturing'
Any suggestions on how to bring it back to life?
I can't belive I just blogged about bamboo... :)

print advertisement

For my print advertising class, we had to create an add that encourages people to donate to the local food bank. Here is what I came up with. If you click on it, it will enlarge.
I love creating/designing things. So...today I met with my second advisor and decided to add another minor...visual journalism! I will get
to take classes that allow me to have a creative outlet. Can't wait.
I am a Public Relations Major, Advertising and Visual
Journalism Minors.

BRUSH

Beautifying Residencies Using Student Help aka BRUSH

Every year NW students donate their time to give back to the community. There are various projects that the Maryville community needs completed and we help them out. I was a supervisor at the park where we laid down mulch for a trail. 45 people and 3 hours later...we were done!

the roomies

and then there were three...

Rosalind (in the blue stripes) and Natalie (in the black stripes) are my roomies again this year. We all roomed together last year with our friend, Mariah, who has now transefered to a different college.

Aren't they beautiful girls?? So thankful I have roommates that I get along with and share the same interests with.

10 in 20 - Stanley Hainsworth - of Tether

Last night I was fortunate to go to Kansas City and see Stanley Hainsworth speak. Hainsworth has been the creative art director for Nike, Lego, and Starbucks. His presentation talked about the 10 things that he has learned in the past 20 years of working in the agency side of advertising. His designs are amazing and brilliant. This is my friend Bryce and I before the event started.

so much to be thankful for..

Today a little Josh Groban came on Pandora radio when I was getting ready. This song really struck me and stayed with me all day. Here are a few of the lyrics...

Somedays we forget to look around us.
Somedays we can't see
The joy that surrounds us
So caught up inside ourselves
We take when we should give.
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be.
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see.
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.

Sums it all up, right? I forget to look around and appreciative everything that I have been given. I get stressed and forget what is important in life. I am trying my best to thank God throughout the day for the small surprises he throws my way. I have been blessed with such a wonderful family, friends, education, talents, my health and skills...the list could go on forever.

My friend April reminds me that we can plan out our life and try to make things the way that WE want them to be..but God's plan is so much bigger, and so much better than anything we could ever dream of.

In him we have obtained an inheritance having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will. Ephesians 1:11
